What are the new features of the SES?
A shared region is a region on a page that shares its content on other pages, that is you edit it on the sharing page and it is displayed on one or more pages throughout your website. The content that was entered into a shared region is the shared content.
Shared regions are defined in the templates on your website by a Port 80 Solutions Web Master, usually when your website is first created. Changes to shared regions must be done by our Web Masters.
There are two main types of sharing available. The first is a global sharing method in which a particular region on a particular page (usually a "home" page) is marked for sharing, and the rest of the pages on the site are configured to display that page's content in a given area. This is most often used for site banners, global menus and footer information, and all pages will display the shared content regardless of their template.
The second method of sharing is more of a "Master Page" configuration, where a page is defined as a Master Page by it's name (usually "index") and it will share marked regions with all other pages that are:
When you paste content in from document on your computer (for example, Microsoft Word) you are also pasting in all the hidden formatting tags that was embedded in the document. The editor may provide a warning if you attempt to do this.
The best way to add content from another document
is to copy the text from the document and use the Paste as Plain Text
function, then apply the formatting as required, or put it in tables etc. If you are trying to keep
the general structure of the content from a Word document you can try the Paste From Word
function but your results may vary. In most cases, it's best to bring
the content in as plain text, and then align and format it as necessary.
Put your content in a table, and separate sections or paragraphs as well as headings into their own table cell. This will isolate each portion of text making it much easier to select only the text that you want to format.
Use the Remove Format
function. This handy tool will remove all the hidden HTML formatting in your selection allow you to start fresh.
In some cases, it's easier to rebuild the section of content from scratch. Copy the text you want, place it in an external text editor such as Notepad, then paste it back in where it was, or add a table and paste in portions of the text into separate cells.
To remove it, click on the Tools menu -> Options -> Security -> Custom Level. Near the bottom of the list is a section called Scripting.
You should find an option here that says: Allow programmatic clipboard access. Change this option to Yes and then click OK until all the dialogues close. Note
that this will allow any website to access the information you have copied into the clipboard. If you are concerned about this security issue, leave the setting at Prompt.
